This installation celebrates the jubilee of a building which everyone in Lyon is familiar with - Lyon’s main public library in the Part-Dieu district. The Festival of Lights is a fantastic occasion to celebrate fifty years of an institution which has stood the test of time amidst a digital and media revolution. Dust off your flares and big collars, get out the disco ball, Studio Dichro is taking you on a nostalgia trip back to the seventies. The entrance to the library which was renovated in 2007 will be illuminated by an original light display, which can be enjoyed at night and during the day. Gaudy colours, psychedelic moods, a silver-fringed sculpture and glittery curtains crafted during community workshops... The Library has caught Saturday Night Fever.

The designers of Groovy Bibli want to share a message that is “lighthearted and fun.” They believe we can still be moved by old fashioned technology and a low-tech experience. “We also want to show the power of a composition which is in harmony with the building and its surroundings and offer an installation which can be admired both day and night.“
