Since 1991, BIBI’s works made of plastic (the “5th element”) have been probing our relationship with the environment and our ability to confront our contradictions when it comes to waste. Inspired by the New Realists, BIBI is a self-taught artist who draws on his own experience to question, with irony, the relationships between humans and nature and, above all, “their natures”. He creates installations for public spaces, designing an imaginary compendium of beasts that has travelled to every continent. BIBI is currently focusing on large-scale participatory projects with children and the disabled. The artist is now a regular contributor to the Festival of Lights, with this being his fifth participation.
