Romain Tardy is a pioneer of VJing*. He co-founded the AntiVJ collective in 2006. A benchmark in the world of digital art and electronic music, his creative work always has an underlying philosophical message intended to lay bare certain aspects of society. Based in Brussels for the past 10 years, this fan of work by Camille Henrot or the London collective UVA, creates site-specific large-scale installations. The sound designer Laurent Delforge invents an audiovisual language that is inseparable from the artwork. For his first Festival of Lights in 2019, as both artist and spectator, he is presenting a spectacular project based on big data.
* Visual performance combining real-time creation and video projection, in synchronisation to music.
