The wind blows through the Place de la République. A tornado may be about to roll across its waters... But are we ready to face the tempest? This is the question Cymopoleia, the Greek goddess of storms, is asking us. In this installation, a climatic phenomenon unfolds before our very eyes, one that usually takes place in faraway latitudes - that is, until now: scientific studies suggest that tornadoes are set to become more frequent and more powerful in our part of the world. Cymopolée combines artisanal skill and digital mastery: when night falls, this monumental metal structure comes to life, animated by a light from within, swaying in the winds of the soundscape. Our environmental conscience meets poetry and emotion.

The majority of Luminariste's work establishes a connection with water, a fascinating playground of reflected light... "For Cymopolée, we dreamed of an installation on water, ideally over the water feature in Lyon's Place de la République" – Benjamin Nesme. That dream came true!
