The extraordinary display cabinet is best discovered in the dark. It blends discreetly into the city centre setting, with its sober LEDs and literary allusions. Following on from Emily Dickinson, the Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication is illustrating the words of Virginia Woolf with a sentence all about light taken from “To the Lighthouse”. Two contrasting fonts are juxtaposed, bridging the gap between two eras and blurring the passing of time. Garamond is a solemn throwback to our heritage whereas Comic Sans exudes a more contemporary light-hearted vibe.
