Although principally an illustrator and director of animated films, Franck Dion has also built sets for the theatre, worked for magazines and publishers, and designed animations for documentaries. He sees video mapping as a hybrid art form that enables him to reach out to wider audiences. His work and highly personal world of graphics have won numerous awards, notably at international festivals.
Short film success
His short film Edmond était un âne [Edmund was a donkey] won the Special Jury Prize at the 2012 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the Best International Film Award at the Tokyo Shortshorts Festival, and was nominated for the 2013 French Cartoon d'or and César awards in the Best Animated Film category.
