Jérôme Donna, an interior architect by training, worked as a project manager with Les Éclairagistes Associés (LEA) before joining the City of Lyon's public lighting department in 2004. In addition to his daily work illuminating monuments and public spaces, he frequently showcases his artistry at the Fête des Lumières. Drawing from a diverse array of inspirations, his creations subtly combine luminous objects, video mapping and various other techniques. Laniakea was designed in collaboration with Simon Milleret-Godet for the 2014 edition of the festival.
