Created in 1968 under the name of Externat Spécialisé du Prado, the building is now called ITEP Antoine Chevrier, in tribute to the institute’s founder. It is located in Lyon in the heart of the Guillotière district on the site where Le Prado was built in 1860.
ITEP opens its doors to children and adolescents with psychological difficulties whose expression – in particular through extreme behavioral issues – severely disturbs their ability to socialize and learn. In spite of their intellectual and cognitive potential, these youngsters are mired in an incapacitating process that requires intervention based on combined actions and personalized support.
