The square dates from the middle of the 19th century, when the town of Guillotière expanded and the rue de Créqui was built. In 2007, it was the subject of a development project with the aim of reunifying it and making it comfortable for pedestrians. The canopy of majestic plane trees and the liveliness of the café terraces and shops on the ground floor are the assets of this convivial square. The ground, which was previously made of clay, has been renovated and paved with flagstones.
