In ancient times, an asklipion was a healing shrine dedicated to Asclepius, the god of medicine. The eponymous installation in the Grôlée district draws inspiration from this in order to evoke the virtues of medicinal plants in a poetic ode to nature. Émilien Guesnard, working alongside biologist Émeline Mourocq and herbalist Claire Lebeau, has created a work halfway between a temple and an apothecary's stall. The oval-shaped structure with a fountain at its centre magnifies around a hundred preserved plants on five levels. An unusual detail is that the frequencies generated by the plants themselves inspired the lighting and sound design. This makes for a captivating and soothing experience that can also be enjoyed during the day... and that's new for the Festival!
