Three young people from the same generation but different countries. (Dé)construire is both a trinational project illustrating Europe’s collective memory and a dance performance by the Franco-German company Plattform. Specially created for the Festival of Lights by five schools of dance, design, light and sound from Lyon, Barcelona and Leipzig, this performance prompts us to think about the values that unite Europe: fraternity and the fight for freedom.
The experience of youth builds a bridge between the past and the future. (Dé)construire’s luminous leitmotiv, in its different phases, symbolises obstruction/construction but also communication. We can take nothing for granted in the struggle against tyranny and can face obstacles at any time.
