The great laughing cat you see before you is not just a light sculpture. She is also turns out to be the physical medium for a series of digital cats that you are all invited to find online, during and after the Festival of Lights. Scan the QR Code provided and discover a whole world of virtual cats, both at home and abroad!
With Eikosis, Jérémie Bellot invites us to explore the world of NFTs, digital files with certificates of ownership attached that have revolutionised the art market. This piece is made up of 20 cats, including the sculpture. The 19 digital cats can be seen in the towns, neighbourhoods, or heritage sites where they live. Eikosis questions the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds: what if traditional and digital artforms did not have to be at odds with one another?
