How do you get with the groove in a heartbeat?
1- Walk along the river Saône, arrive at Les Subsistances.
2- Enjoy the atmosphere and stay for as long as you can! Artists from all genres feature in this four-night festival with a conscience: a no-holds-barred, joyous, colourful, and rhythmic line-up. Firstly, Nicolas Paolozzi, architect and light designer, takes over the vast, beautiful glass roof and sets the scene with his modular installations.
On December 8 and 9, the members of Ateliers des Artistes en Exil show up with dancers and musicians to initiate the audience into 'sapology', the art of snappy dressing. "Sapés comme jamais" is an audacious piece which encompasses parody, Congolese rumba, and outfits that are the height of sophistication. Watch out for an explosion of colours.
On December 10 and 11, it's time for Collectif A/R to harness the magic of this venue. In close collaboration with Nicolas Paolozzi, they give us "Shake Shake Shake": a night flight featuring 13 contemporary dancers and 6 percussionists from the Conservatoire where dance, live music, and light come together. Movement, physicality, soul, light: the Subs are pulling out all the stops!
The Kraken of Les SUBS who you have met and grown to love, who has sparked your imagination with educational workshops, the Kraken who has astonished you with his spectacular tentacles... the Kraken is leaving home after drawing in the crowds for months! A new life in a new place awaits this creature – and Les SUBS will soon be welcoming another installation, on a theme which concerns us all: water.
