On Place Antonin-Poncet, the cosmos is within reach. Exactly ten years after it was first unveiled in the same place, Laniakea horizon24 is back to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Festival of Lights. Its name - as lilting as it is puzzling - is borrowed from Hawaiian where it means “celestial horizon”. A perfect genesis for this artwork inspired by the works of Hélène Courtois, an astrophysicist from Lyon who mapped out the universe.
A milky way consisting of 1,000 spheres of light is mapped out across the ground while the façade of the building displays images of a mega galaxy, unleashing a big bang of emotions.
